Team: Netherlands vs USA
Competition: Women’s World Cup final 2019
Date : Sunday Jul 7,2019
Time : 11:00 p.m. ET
The United States is taking on the Netherlands in the 2019 Women’s World Cup finals on Sunday.
The Americans are defending their title as world champions, having won their third World Cup in 2015, and facing high expectations after taking plenty of criticism from even their own president.
That has irked Rapinoe, who also took aim at FIFA over the gulf in prize money available for the women’s and men’s World Cups.
While FIFA president Gianni Infantino on Friday announced plans to double prize money for the 2023 Women’s World Cup from $30 million to $60 million, the pot for the men’s tournament is increasing from $400 million in 2018 to $440 million at Qatar 2022, meaning the disparity will actually grow by a further $10 million.
The United States has advanced to the final at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. The USWNT made the championship game thanks to a 2-1 win over England in a tight semifinal battle on Tuesday. England, meanwhile, heads to Saturday’s third-place game. The U.S. will face the Netherlands on Sunday in Lyon. The Dutch picked up a 1-0 win over Sweden in extra time on Wednesday.
The tournament will air in the United States English on Fox and FS1, while the Spanish broadcast rights are with Telemundo, with games also airing on Universo. You can watch the tournament on fuboTV (Try for free).
